YueCheng Courtyard Kindergarten

YueCheng Courtyard Kindergarten, conveniently located in the Shuangqiao area of Chaoyang District, is a member institution of YueCheng Education, which opened in 2019. The kindergarten features a unique campus design of ancient and modern, China and the world, which allows children to engage in inspiring, open and connected learning spaces. So far, the kindergarten has won many international awards including the A+ Awards, known as the "Oscars in Architecture". Following the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) standards, the kindergarten’s facilities include: open learning spaces, an indoor gym and theater, rooftop and outdoor play spaces, hands-on STEAM maker-space, perceptual motor development facilities, teaching kitchen, a parents’ center and much more.

Crystallizing the pioneering and innovative experiences of providing international education for years, YueCheng Education has created the YueCheng Kindergarten Curriculum that enables young children to learn through investigative play. The position

As a bilingual PE teacher you are responsible for planning and implementing physical education learning intentions for all YCCK children between the age of 2-6. Connect with children and develops fun and effective PE programs. Duties include actively engaging with children to foster a positive and healthy learning environment, conducting assessments, providing reports and feedback on performance and behavior to parents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promotes the values and mission of YCE Kindergartens.

  • Implements school-wide policies.

  • Supports the kindergarten’s strategic goals.

  • Promotes and maintains a positive working environment in the kindergarten. 

  • Promotes and maintain a calm, caring, and appropriately challenging environment for children.

  • Maintains high but personalized expectations of children, self and team members.

  • Develops a deep understanding of the kindergarten’s PE curriculum and assessment policies and practices.

  • Ensures one’s teaching and learning practices are in accordance with foundational principles.

  • Completes relevant planning, assessing and reporting documentation within the required timeframes.

  • Contributes to ongoing curriculum development.

  • Contribute to the selection of educational resources and materials.

  • Partners with parents and primary caregivers to develop positive home-school relationships.

  • Regularly engages in professional development, keeping up to date on recent research related to best teaching practices for young children.

  • Models excellent teaching for others.

  • Actively participate in school activities and meetings.

  • Maintains open communication with staff.

Desired Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Physical Education.

  • Mother tongue fluency in written and oral Chinese; Highly functional and technical fluency in written and oral English

  • Three or more years’ experience in early childhood teaching (preschool or kindergarten)

  • Commitment to progressive, play-based learning experiences for young children.

  • Teaching license in Physical Education.

  • Successful experience in working as part of a team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A sound understanding of Physical Education, extensive knowledge of how young children learn, inquire and explore their world in order to make meaningful and a good understanding of the play-based learning; 

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, using positive interpersonal skills with children, faculty, staff, administration and parents; 

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work assignments in an efficient manner. 

Evaluation

  • In addition to actively reflecting on their own practices, the Chinese PE Teacher is appraised by the Principal and/or Early Years Curriculum Coordinator in accordance with Board Policies and Protocols.
